Hi there, we thank God for ushering us into the year 2020. We pray 2020 will be the best year ever. Well, we’ve all resumed work and we need grace and strength to sail through. Beloved, since I love sharing, I want to share with you some lessons I learnt early this year. My topic is “Don’t Downplay Things”
So I was given a token money to buy tickets to go watch a play by a Renowned play write, Mr Ebo Whyte at the national theatre on January 2, 2020. I got there romantically in my pinky long dress and slippers to match, but I was dumbfounded by the huge number of people that tropped in.
“Eii despite all life challenges, life is still beautiful” those were the first words that rolled off my lips.
Though several commercials were run on air about the play and where to purchase the tickets, I was adamant. Little did I know that I needed to buy an advance ticket. I managed to get closer to the ladies at the front desk to purchase my ticket, but one of them responded calmly, “Madam all tickets are sold out please”. I enquired about 8pm. Her response was same. I was curious to know why so many people were at the forecourt. Her response was curt, “they don’t have tickets”. We were all disappointed, while those with tickets entered coolly. I could see the joy on people’s faces while entering. Others were also running to get in.
Sitting outside so sad with my daughter, I whispered to myself, “Ignorance is no excuse”. In life we shouldn’t take things for granted. One can choose to be happy or not. Those who were able to purchase advance tickets secured their seats. We must be thoughtful and enjoy little moments as it comes. God has given us His beautiful world to enjoy. We shouldn’t focus too much on our problems. One must choose to be happy by being grateful to God and all that He has done for us.
Life must be enjoyed. Those who intend to be happy choose to be happy in spite of all their problems. We can all try to surmount our problems and be happy. Waiting for a while without any word, we finally decided to spend the rest of the evening at a restaurant near by to cool off.
.
I trust you have learnt something from my story.
Happy New Year.
God bless us all.
