Life is full of hiccups. It’s unfortunate that sometimes life does not turn out the way we want it. We all face difficult times at varying dimensions, but how to handle it depends on us. As I journeyed through life, I gained knowledge of a number of things including virtues like faith, resilience, patience, integrity, love, dignity, forgiveness, how to care and help others. By the grace and help of the Holy Spirit these virtues have enhanced my life.
I never gave up or became demoralised when I had health challenges, and things were down.. By faith i knew God could heal and use me for His glory someday. I kept praying for direction and restoration and with positive attitude and confessions based on God’s word, I overcame my fears.
A year after my recovery, I established a Non- profit making Organisation in 2009 to support the poor and needy In society.
Little did I know that i will reach out to people through writing. Although I’m someone who enjoys reading, I never thought I could write a book. We all have plans for our lives, but God directs us as He wills.
In 2011 shortly after an idea dropped on my mind to write a book, I did not despise it or gave excuses on what to write. I quickly contacted my mentors about it and they encouraged me to go ahead and write. With my little experience and research, I wrote my maiden book “Motherhood”. I overcame another hurdle. It may not have all the information, but I wrote it. The feedback boosted my confidence and i wrote a second book “Children Our Future” for our young and potential mothers. So amazing!!
Early this year, after attending a workshop on how to write “Love Fictional Stories”, there was a competition to write on certain topics. Unfortunately my stories didn’t qualify for that. Not because they were not good but i noticed they lack certain ingredients which I’m working on. I was sad, but my son encouraged me and advised me to create a blog so others will learn and benefit from it. I mentioned it to Celestine, a friend who also encouraged me. Initially I was reluctant, because i thought its a big issue, however, i decided to give it a try. Sometimes rejection in life is good. It redirects you to correct your mistakes and do things in a better way.
Words of Encouragement:
Nothing is easy, Never give up! Be hopeful and trust God in whatever circumstances you may find yourself. Don’t be too anxious in life as the bible cautions us. Whatever ideas you may seem to have, don’t belittle it. Pray about it, make conscious effort, and take a bold step and see how best you can put it into action.
Don’t be afraid of set backs, be determined, it’s part of life. Once you are discouraged you cannot go further, so discouragement should not be tolerated. Talk to your mentor or someone you trust who can guide, counsel or encourage you to implement your dream; not those who will distract or discourage you. Buy books and read!
As a mother and model to young women, my greatest desire is to see young women become bold and confident not necessarily being arrogant. Bible reveals we are made in the image of God, therefore He loves us despite all our mistakes and inadequacies. He cares! Never say it cannot be done. “With God all things are possible!”.
