Hi friends, we thank God for the gift of life. I’m back with another intriguing topic. Let’s all ponder over this subject on healthy living. The Bible has several verses on healthy relationships. Let me dwell on Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 as my case study. “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he hath not another to help him up”.
Friendship is one of the sweetest gifts life offers. Everyone needs somebody. You cannot do it without people. One of the things relationship does is to offer help.
Life is designed for ”companionship”, not “isolation”.
For “Intimacy” not “Loneliness “.
Others prefer “Isolation” just because few friends hurt them and thinking they can’t trust anybody. Well, we are not here to serve ourselves, but to serve God and others. “Loneliness” has negative effects on our health including depression and heart related diseases.
Low self esteem, losing a friend or a loved one can also result in “Loneliness”. However, spending time alone sometimes can be helpful but prolonged “Isolation” can be disastrous.
A recent WhatsApp video by Robert Waldinger, a psychiatrist, explained how good relationship promotes our health.
“Good relationships keep us happier and healthier”.
Three big lessons about relationships! He stated:
1) “The first is that, the social connections are really good for us, and that loneliness kills. It turns out that those who are socially connected to family, friends and community are happier. They are physically healthier and live longer than people who are less well connected.
2) It’s not just the number of friends you have, and it is not whether or not you are in a committed relationship, but it is the quality of your close relationship that matters. It turns out that, living in the midst of conflicts is really bad for our health, and living in the good warm relationship is protective.
3) Good relationships don’t just protect our bodies, but our brains.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is fantastic exposè! It explains why we must establish and maintain good relationships with the people God brings our way. I’m sure a few friends may be difficult to handle but let’s try our possible best and manage them, because we may need them someday. I hope we have all learnt from this article. Let’s seek companions and be team players. God bless you🤗
