Well, Christmas is over and we’re getting ready for work. All too soon 2018 has come to an end and we should enter the new year with the same excitement we had during Christmas. We have encountered so many things in our lives which give us reasons to be thankful to God. Many of us would say most of my expectations were not met or I didn’t achieve anything meaningful in 2018. Am not disputing the fact that all didn’t go well with others, but let’s think of God’s goodness and mercy.
Let’s not forget about the many blessings He bestowed on us, especially the gift of life. Healing our diseases, providing food, shelter, taking care of our children, ecetera. The fact that most of us didn’t accomplish anything, shouldn’t stop us from appreciating God.
As we begin a new year, let us pause and reflect all that happened to us and how God has been so good to us. Let’s count our blessings by joining King David in Psalm 103: 1-5.
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all they diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieh thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
David judiciously acknowledged God’s blessings in his life and we must all do same.
Welcome to 2019! “A year with series of victories”!
Whatever be your new year’s resolution, write it down, pray about it, till it happens.
I wish you happiness, good health, long life, healthy relationship and also to be compassionate.
Stay blessed.
Happy Blessed New Year!
