Helloooooo good people! God has been good. Christmas is here with us and we are so excited to see the year gone by.
A season of giving and sharing! What is Christmas without the demonstration of love? “For God so love the world; that He gave His only begotten son; that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life”. John 3:16.
As part of my annual visits to the orphanage, a few needy children in my community were not left out. Many children don’t know Christmas because of poverty. I tried having a chat with the small boy in the above picture one day and what I heard left me feeling sad.
“Mummy, i’am eight years and not schooling, it’s difficult for us. The only food we eat is “Banku” ( a Ghanaian food prepared with maize) many a time we eat the “Banku” without fish! My parents said that’s the cheapest food they can afford. Sometimes we go to bed hungry”. He stressed.
As i write, the mother of this child is still in hospital, she needs ghc 160.00 to settle her bill before she could be discharged after giving birth to a baby girl. The husband is praying for a good Samaritan to come to their aid so she can join her family this Christmas. She already has one year old twins to take care of hmm! There are a lot out there who are in the same situation. That’s a pathetic story you See?
Let’s make this Christmas a memorable one for someone. Locate a needy mother or child in your community and put a smile on their faces. Thank you all for your encouragement.
God bless you.
Merry Christmas!!!
