RESPECT AND VALUE YOURSELF
If you don’t respect yourself, don’t expect anybody to respect you. You are uniquely created by God and you need to believe in yourself. Remember you have something others don’t have, so don’t look down on yourself.
PATIENCE
Patience they say is “golden” because it is a powerful virtue. Many a time most people don’t have the ability to stay calm. It is not that simple to endure but if you can endure for whatsoever you looking forward to, at the right time, it will surely come to pass. Maintaining a good attitude whilst enduring brings good results. Try it and see!
“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet” Aristotle.
KINDNESS
God is love and He has poured His love into our hearts because we are His children. But sometimes the pressures of life divert our attention from who we are as God’s children. Instead of us being kind and loving to one another, we rather nag and display our bad attitude toward people. Showing love to ourselves, caring for one another like the good Samaritan in Luke chapter ten and helping the helpless will surely bring us together and make the world a peaceful and beautiful place to live in.
MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY AND HAVE FUN
Happiness they say is relative, but i believe one can make conscious effort and take a step to create his or her own happiness. ” Throw your own party”.
I remember I one day woke up and said to myself, I must be happy no matter the circumstances around me. And since that time I can confidently say that I have been always happy .
Don’t bear grudges, it will eat you up.
You can go to the gym and exercise.
You can schedule to have a massage.
Have a manicure and pedicure every two weeks or a month, it makes you feel good.
You can dye your hair for a new look.
You can travel for vacation any time you want, and you can go out with your friends to watch movies and have fun.
LEARN TO ACCEPT OTHERS OPINION
The world is a mixture of people and we all have our uniqueness. The way you see things differs from another. At times we find it very difficult to tolerate others opinions. Well, we are all entitled to our opinions. If you don’t have people agreeing with your opinions, that’s okay. We may have differences of opinions, marriage couples, twins, siblings etc but we should make sure to keep our bond as children of God.
TREAT OTHERS RIGHT
WELL, remember the Golden Rule, which I always tell my children “Do unto others, what you want others to do for you!”
It is very easy to mistreat others, but it is very difficult to do good to others.
Let’s try to follow the “Golden Rule” and treat others the way we wanted to be treated.
STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF
Be yourself and create your own style! You are unique. Don’t try to be like someone, by imitating the way they talk, walk or act. Feel proud of yourself. You are you!
DON’T BE JUDGEMENTAL
Bible cautions us not to judge, else we too will be judged. Are we ready to criticise someone, then we must check to see if we deserve the same criticism. It is not our place to judge, God is the final judge!
FORGIVENESS
God our creator is so loving and forgiving, and we cannot move forward when we are holding on the pain and hatred in our hearts; except we let go.
Forgiveness brings healing and inner peace! In our Lord’s prayer, it is stated that “God forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us”. God forgave us not because we forgave others, but because of His goodness and mercy. Bitterness, harsh words, anger, slander and bad attitudes can grief the Holy Spirit. The Bible cautions us not to let the sun go down on our anger.
I heard of a true story about some patients who were suffering from cancer. As often as they were being treated their healing process wasn’t working. The doctor did not understand, so he arranged and brought in a Man of God to pray and asked them to confess and forgive those who have offended them. As they prayed and forgave those who have wronged them, eventually they were healed. That is the power of forgiveness. “LOVE CONQUERS ALL”.
NEVER LOOK DOWN ON ANYBODY.
Never look down on anybody! No one knows what tomorrow brings. Someone may not be useful today, but will be prosperous in life.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 says, “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skills; but time and chance happens to them all”.
This scripture is so powerful that, we need to ponder over it. We might have believed that life should be pleasant and excelling to those friends who are brilliant in life, but sometimes it doesn’t happen that way.
Unfortunately those we didn’t expect, the down trodden who had low grades, might later become productive and successful in life. Some even drop out of school because they have low IQ but later in life, they are able to make it. Only God knows the beginning and the end.
